GLAZE FAMILY HISTORY

 

Erhard Kloss arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 9, 1738 as a Palatine passenger on the ship Glasgow from Rotterdam, Amsterdam. Walter Sterling was the Captain and the ship carried 120 Palatines and 349 total passengers. Erhard is listed as Leonard Glace in the official ship record, Erhart Kloss in Oath of Allegiance as age 30, and Erhardt Kloss in the Oath of Abjuration.

Erhard married Eva Seltenreich, daughter of Andreas Zeltenreich and Anna Maria Muller of Germany. They settled in Hampshire County, VA and Erhard is found in many land records and is often referred to as Earhart Glaze.

Lawrence Glaze
- b. February 29, 1744 in Lancaster County, PA.

John "Johannes" Glaze - b. April 17, 1745 in Lancaster County, PA.

George Glaze - b. January, 1749 in Lancaster County, PA d. June 25, 1826 in Pickaway County, OH. He married Elizabeth Williams.

Conrad Glaze - b. November 24, 1749 in New Holland, PA d. May 17, 1831 in Hampshire County, VA. He married a Sarah and they had eight children - I am descended through his daughter Mary "Polly" Glaze who married John Long.

Andrew "Andreas" Glaze - b. March 17, 1751 in Lancaster County, PA d. about 1828 in Scioto County, OH

Wendel Glaze - b. May 16, 1755 in Lancaster County, PA.

Erhardt Glaze - b. before 1762 in Pennsylvania d. November, 1808 in Kentucky.
