1810 listed as Samuel "Ruffman" in Ohio Co., Virginia census
about 1820 bought abt 140 acres on the North Fork of Big Grave Creek.
1820 census was rewritten in alaphbetical order. and no Ruckman's listed - possible he could be one of the Samuel Buckanon's listed, but no way to know.
1825 sold land on North Fork of Big Grave Creek
1825 purchased from John Alley 130 farm farther up Fish Creek on Maggotty Camp Run, east of Lynn Camp.
1830 listed in Ohio Co., Virginia


Judy Warth Note:According to Declaration by brother John, Samuel was eldest son and went to Ohio Co VA (became Marshall in 1845 later WVa.) about 1800. Names of children and Sarah & Lucinda's married names per Will.



bullet  Burial Notes:

61 years of age. Note most burials are from the Richmond family and date from the later 1800's, the only other burial near this time (1832) is a David Richmond David (1787 - May 1838). check for some kind of family connect or is this Samuels land?

Directions to Richmond Family Burial Grounds - Lynn Camp:
Go to Graysville and turn up Graysville Road. At the first large bend in the road, the cemetery is located on the right hand side of the creek, up behind the old Richmond house. It is in the woods and unable to be seen from the road.

Samuel married Elenor Barnett about 1798.1 (Elenor Barnett was born about 1780 in Pennsylvania, died on 31 Jan 1845 in Marshall Co, West Virginia and was buried in Richmond Family Cemetery, Marshall Co, West Virginia.)
