Rebakah Campbell

Rebakah married Joshua Callaway in 1808 in Monroe Co, Virginia (Now WV). (Joshua Callaway was born on 1 Oct 1783, died on 23 Oct 1879 in Raleigh Co West Virginia and was buried in Coal Marsh Baptist Church.)

  Marriage Notes:

Know all men by these presents, that Joshua Callaway and William Campbell are held and firmly bound unto William H Cabell Esquire, Governor of Virginia, and his successors, for the use of the commonwealth, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and admisistrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed and dated this 14th day of November 1808.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Joshua Callaway and Rebakah Campbell daughter of William Campbell of Monroe County, if therefore, there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, the the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
