• Will, 16 Nov 1858, Hampshire Co, West Virginia. ² This is my will and testamony in the year of our Lord 1858, Martha Shingleton. It is my will that Jonathon Shingleton, my son, shall have my land his lifetime, then it belongs to William Shingleton my son and his heirs. And the hundred and sixty dollars that William my son ows me I want him to have and to pay my funeral expenses and in ten years from this date Sixteenth day of November 1858, to pay Gracy Hare ten dollars and pay Matilda Hare ten dollars and pay John Shingleton's wife ten dollars and which I want William Shingleton my son to have ten years to pay this money to the girls from the above date. It is my will that Jonathan Shingleton to have my bed and bedsheets his lifetime then it goes to William my son and his heirs. I will that Jobe Shingleton my grandson shall have my then bedding and bedsheets. I will that my ---- go to William Shingleton's wife also my pot and-----and table to----

Martha married Absalom Shingleton, son of William Shingleton and Elizabeth Lavina Gray, before 1807 in Hampshire Co, West Virginia. (Absalom Shingleton was born in 1775-1784 in Culpeper Co, Virginia and died on 24 Aug 1826 in Hampshire Co, West Virginia.)
