William Carl Shingleton
Served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WW2. with the 3rd Division under General George S. Patton. Worked for the B & O railroad for many years as a track inspector. Worked for the city of Fairmont water department as a meter man. Managed his own store "Chico's Dairy Mart" and was a Scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team. He was a drummer and had his own band. He played against Gene Krupa during the battle of the bands at the old Fairmont Armory on Jackson St. He later managed the East side and Monongah State liquor Stores.
