Some genealogies show her as the dau of Rupert I von Wormsgou and Williswint but AR and most others still make her dau. of {St.} Liutwin Count and Bishop of Treves and (Daughter) of Chrodobertus [AR 50-10, 50-11]. -- OR826@aol.com

Per Settapani, based on onomastics, she is instead probably related to the family of Roger, Duke of Le Mans, or to Robert of Burgundy, Duke of Hesbaye. The relation to Luitwin is based solely on that Guy, son of Luitwin, was described as a "close kin" of Charles Martel. Some genealogist explain thus that Rotrude must then be the sister of Guy, but this is supposition.

So the question becomes: Is she the dau of Lambert (665-c.715), Count of Hesbaye, or of St. Luitwin who married Willigarde brother of this same Lambert?

Chrotrude married Charles Martel, Mayor of the Palace, Duke of the Franks, son of Pepin of Heristal, Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia and Alpadia. (Charles Martel, Mayor of the Palace, Duke of the Franks was born on 23 Aug 686 in Heristal, Liege, Belgium, died on 22 Oct 741 in Quierzy, Aisne, France ¹ and was buried in Saint Denis, France ³.)
