William M Mann 13 Sept 1812-6 May 1884, son of James and Lucy (Keaton) Mann, married 24 Dec 1840 Jane Keaton, daughter of the Rev. Johnson Keaton and Elizabeth Ballard Keaton. Jane was born 13 Nov 1821 and died 15 Feb 1888. They had the following children 1. Marshall Anderson Mann 1841-1920 married 1864 Amanda J Miller 2. Allen Mann 1844-1860 3. Preston H Mann 1853-1923 married Hester A Bostic who died 1928 4. Harvey 1854 died young 5. Mary E Mann 1855 married Davis A. Mann 6. Lewis G Mann 1865 married Minnie Susan Mann in 1883

I, William Mann of the County of Monroe and the state of WV do hereby make my last will and testament in the manner and form following, that is to say 1st I wish all my just debs and my funeral expense to be paid out of my ppersonal property and if my property fails before they are paid, the remainder to come out of my real estate. 2nd I give to my worthy wife, Jane Mann, all of the land where I now live, at her natural death to be divided between the youngest two sons. Preston H and Lewis G. 3rd I give to my oldest son, Marshall A Mann all the land I bought from C. Lively. 4th I have up to this time made all my children equal in property and household goods except my youngest son, Lewis G Mann. I give to him one bed, one cow, one horse and saddle, futher one large kettle and a double coverlet extra from his bed and bedding, also the bun which he now claims and a cupboard and a clock. 5th to Mary E Mann, my daughter, one double coverlet with what she has alread got, also my loom and all the outfit. 6th to Preston H Mann one large oven together with the things he has already got from me. 7th if anything in the hands of my wife at her death to be equally divided among my 4 children mentioned in this will. 8th I don't want no Ececutor or administrator appointed to attend to my business. I want my three boys, Marshall, Preston and Lewis to settle my business and pay my debts. 9th in the land divide I want Lewis to get the house where I now live and take care of his mother. Lastly, this is my last will and testament in whereof I set my had and affixed my seal this 1st day of March in the year of our Lord 1881 Witnesses Rufus Houchins Davidson G Mann Thompson Houchins


William married Jane Keaton, daughter of Reverend Johnson Keaton and Elizabeth "Betsy" Mann, on 24 Dec 1840 in Monroe Co, WV. (Jane Keaton was born on 13 Nov 1821 in Monroe Co, WV 1 and died on 15 Feb 1888 in Monroe Co, WV 1.)
